With an emotionless, vacant expression, the cruel father Michael Jones, who took the life of his 7-year-old son Adrian Jones without remorse, was sentenced to life in prison in a court hearing at the Kansas State Court in the United States on May 9, 2017.
Wearing a black-and-white striped prison uniform and orange sandals, Michael Jones sat blankly during the trial, despite having his mother, sister, and grandmother present. He was convicted in March of first-degree murder for the death of his son in 2015. He received a life sentence, with the possibility of parole after serving at least 25 years in prison.
His wife, Heather, 31, also received the same sentence and is currently incarcerated in Topeka, Kansas, USA

When 7-year-old Adrian passed away, his body was frail, nothing but skin and bones. The final months of his life were a nightmare, as he was locked in a bathtub, forced to stand in water up to his neck, chained, starved, and brutally beaten. His stepmother constantly referred to him as ‘this boy’ instead of calling him by his name. While she and Adrian’s father focused on caring for their daughters, Adrian suffered horrific abuse.
Even in death, the heartless pair showed no mercy. Instead of giving the poor boy a proper burial, they discarded his body, feeding it to pigs in an attempt to cover up the evidence.
The boy was brutally tortured to death by his parents in 2015.
Adrian’s grandmother, Judy Conway, demanded an investigation and an explanation from authorities as to why no one helped the 7-year-old boy and allowed such a tragic event to occur. The story of Adrian Jones shocked Kansas and surrounding states after Heather Jones provided the police with the computer password. They discovered numerous images of Adrian being brutally tortured by the two perpetrators.
The computer also contained a video showing Adrian handcuffed and forced to stand outside wearing nothing but socks. The incident occurred in January, during a cold spell in Kansas. In addition, there were countless images showing Adrian’s tortured body, bruises, and swollen lips.

After killing Adrian, the cruel couple planned to flee to Utah, start a new life, and pretend that 7-year-old Adrian never existed. However, they were soon discovered. When the police searched their home, they found bone fragments in the pig pen. DNA testing confirmed the bones belonged to Adrian.
‘This is one of the most horrific cases I’ve ever worked on,’ said one officer.
The investigation is ongoing, as there are many additional details involving other individuals. Adrian’s death has sparked outrage across the United States, not only due to the brutality of his parents but also because of the community’s indifference and the lack of attention from local authorities.
